Privacy Policy — Meet Caption Transcriber AI

Meet Caption Transcriber AI is designed to transcribe Google Meet captions, save meeting transcripts, and provide optional AI-powered features such as meeting summaries and questions about a transcript.
Data We Process
The extension may process Google Meet caption text and meeting transcripts when you use its transcription features. Saved transcripts and related meeting information are stored locally in your browser using Chrome storage.
The extension may also process subscription information necessary to determine whether AI and other Pro features are available to you.
AI Processing
When you choose to use an AI feature, such as generating an AI summary or asking a question about a meeting, the relevant transcript content and request are securely transmitted over HTTPS to the Meet Caption Transcriber AI backend hosted on Render.
The backend sends the information required to process the AI request to DeepSeek’s API and returns the generated result to the extension.
Transcript content is sent for AI processing only when an AI feature requiring that content is used.
Data Storage
Meeting transcripts are primarily stored locally in your browser.
The Meet Caption Transcriber AI backend is used to process AI requests. We do not use meeting transcripts for advertising, profiling, or selling user data.
Payments and Subscriptions
Paid subscription features may use a third-party payment or subscription service to process purchases and verify subscription status.
We do not directly collect or store your payment card information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell users’ personal information or meeting transcript data.
Data may be transmitted to service providers only when necessary to operate requested functionality, including hosting and AI processing services.
Security
Data transmitted between the extension and our backend is sent using HTTPS.
No system can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect information used to provide the extension’s functionality.
User Control
Users can delete saved meeting transcripts through the extension.
Users can choose whether to use AI features. If an AI feature is not used, transcript content does not need to be sent to the AI backend for AI processing.
Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome’s extension data handling behavior.
Limited Use
Information obtained through the extension is used only to provide and improve the extension’s user-facing functionality. We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or other unrelated purposes.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension’s functionality or data practices change. The latest version will be made available at this page with an updated revision date.
